EQUIP ‘09 Youth Conference - Registration open

Uncategorized No Comments »

Registration has opened for EQUIP, the annual youth conference at Vineyard Anaheim. While not a “worship” event, it’s always good to spread the word to area youth leaders and pastors about this event.  Below is info from VineyardUSA.com about this year’s conference.

Note:  Vineyard Anaheim will not be hosting their annual worship conference for adults this year.

EVENT DETAILS

Location: Vineyard Anaheim - CA
Event Dates: 07/15/2009 - 07/17/2009

The theme is “To Know This Love”. Once an individual comes to really know the love that the Father has for them, they are changed forever. We will look at the Father’s love closely and challenge each youth with what it looks like to be loved, to live in that love, and to allow that love to permeate all of who we are and what we do.

Niel and Janet Young, youth pastors from the Causeway Coast Vineyard in Northern Ireland, will be our speakers for EQUIP 09. They have an awesome ministry of taking the love of God into the streets and seeing young people healed and saved. Together they will share with us over four sessions on the many aspects of the love of God. Concurrently, Brennan Manning will be sharing in the adult conference where we will all join together on the final evening. Through the Young’s and Brennan Manning, we anticipate God doing some really neat things here at Anaheim this summer.

Online registration begins May 1st

Our Rising Sound interviews Ryan Delmore

New Music, Vineyard Music No Comments »

Tomorrow (Sept 23), Varietal Records will be releasing a new solo record from Ryan Delmore titled “The Spirit, The Water, And The Blood”. Ryan and his songs are familiar to many worship leaders both in the Vineyard and around the world, and he has been an influential worship leader and writer in the Vineyard movement.

Ryan’s, who is from California’s Central Cost, has penned a myriad of familiar worship songs like Better Than Life, Never Looking Back, Set Me On Fire, and Let it Come.

Varietal Records describes this highly anticipated release:

Produced by friend and fellow worship leader Chris Lizotte and featuring guitarist Marc Ford, The Spirit, The Water, and The Blood is the ragged-but-true sound of a sinner saved by grace, lifting up a thankful heart to Jesus with his guitar and voice. In his debut release with Varietal, Ryan crafts simple songs with a poetic depth that invites his listeners to join him and lift their voices to commune with God.

Streams of country, rock, gospel, and folk blend together to create a unique musical backdrop upon which Ryan’s intimate worship and passionate praise are built. Ryan’s sound harkens back to that of artists like Bob Dylan, Neil Young, and Tom Petty while resonating with the influence of fellow worship leaders John Barnett, Chris Lizotte, and Ireland’s Brian Houston.

Ryan sat down with Kyle Campos of Our Rising Sound (http://www.ourrisingsound.com/) to discuss the new record and more. The three-part interview is here.

Authority To Heal - Equipping Conference

Events No Comments »

This coming weekend, the Scotts Valley Vineyard will be hosting the “Authority To Heal - Vineyard Equipping Conference. Speakers will include Bob Obert and Ken Blue, and Scott Underwood will be leading worship during the conference.

Here is Pastor Bob Obert’s invitation to this event:

Dear Friends, I got involved in the Vineyard in 1985 with John Wimber and what was really attractive to me about the Vineyard was the no hype, practical approach to spirit-led teaching and and spirit-filled ministry. I was also powerfully impacted by the simple heart felt worship that was both celebrational and intimate. These wonderful things are our inheritance. They are God’s unique gift to the Vineyard to embrace and give away to the body of Christ.

The purpose of these equipping conferences is to provide a venue for ministry and good teaching that lines up with what John Wimber taught and modeled to us. There seems to be something of a spiritual need within the Vineyard movement. It could be an absence of training and equipping conferences that are rooted in the Vineyard values that we’re developed in the early 80’s. As long as there is a need, people in our mist who are seeking experiences with the Holy Spirit and the ministry of Jesus will continue to be hungry but unfulfilled. Let’s fan the flame again!

inspire.create.respond retreat for Western region worship leaders canceled

Announcements, Events 1 Comment »

We would like to thank everyone who registered for the fall retreat for Western Region Worship. Unfortunately, due to lack of sufficient registrations to make the event viable, the members of the regional worship task force believe that it is best to cancel the retreat.

Of course we are disappointed to announce this because we were looking forward to having Dan Wilt come and share with us. We would like to thank Dan for his helpfulness and willingness to contribute to the event. We hope that we can bring him down for a different type of weekend event in our region soon.

Refunds

Any of you who have paid a deposit or the full registration fee will receive a refund in 7-10 business days. Any questions regarding refunds or anything else about the event can be directed at worship@vineyardwestern.com

Paul Beloche responds to “Why won’t my worship team practice?”

Paul is right-on when it comes to challenging your team to stop playing the charts, and to memorize songs, and learn that most songs are patterns. Good stuff.
